The wait for Mumbai’s first roll on, roll off ship, Mumbai to Alibag RoRo service has came to an end as its started last week with good response. The usual time required to reached Alibag by road is approximately 3-4 hours depending on traffic.

Ferry services from Alibag to Mumbai and vice versa is carried on regular basis from Mandwa to Gateway of India and Gateway of India to Mandwa which does not avail the facility to take vehicles(cycle, Bikes and Cars). Price is almost similar for passenger but due to bus service from Mandwa to Alibag it keeps them ahead of RoRO ferry service.

The new RoRo ferry service from Mumbai to Alibaug ferry will allow vehicles like bike, car and bus to sail easily and reach Mandwa Port (Alibag 18 km) in just 1 hour. The new RoRo ferry boat has named M2M1 which was purchased from Greece and it is 95-100 metres long and 18 metres wide.

The RoRo ferry can take upto 200 cars, 15 buses and 1200 passengers when witnessed and enquired from m2mferries. Travel time took by RoRo ferry was just 1 hour. There are three options for passenger seating: ŠKODA KUSHAQ ZONE(Rs.380), ŠKODA OCTAVIA DECK(Rs.460), and ŠKODA SUPERB LOUNGE(Rs.1500).2 Wheeler price is Rs.210*,Small car price is Rs.1020* and XUV’s is Rs.1200*. Gates of ferry are closed prior 15 mins of departure. Air Conditioned waiting rooms are available for passengers at Ports.

RoRo Boat Alibaug Prices will be changed in coming next 3 months by Maharashtra Maritime Board. Best part of Mumbai Alibag RoRo Service is that it will function during monsoon as well.
